With the launch of its first watch in November 1974, Casio entered the
wristwatch market at a time when the watch industry had just discovered
digital technology. As a company with cutting-edge electronic
technology developed for pocket calculators, Casio entered this field
confident that it could develop timepieces that would lead the market |

Amazon.com Product Description Perfect for rugged adventurers and weekend warriors, the solar-powered Casio Pathfinder men's sport watch is loaded with a digital compass and altimeter/barometer/thermometer--perfect for both mountain trekking and cave spelunking. It also includes tide and moon graphs and moon age data, and is very precise thanks to its atomic timekeeping features. The durable round watch case (measuring 50.5mm/1.98 inches wide) and bracelet are made of titanium, which is nearly 50 percent lighter than steel, but 30 percent stronger. It's also particularly resistant to salt water corrosion, as well as hypo-allergenic--perfect for those with metal allergies. The altimeter offers 5-meter measurements from -700 to 10,000 meters, and it can store altitude, month, date and time data, provide tendency and differential graphs, track cumulative ascent/descent, and sound an alarm when you reach a specified altitude. The watch also has a digital compass with 16 points of measurement displayed on the dial face. Other environmental and timekeeping features include: - Barometer with atmospheric pressure tendency/differential graphics
- Thermometer
- World Time: 29 times zones (30 cities), city code display, daylight saving on/off
- 5 daily alarms
- 1/100 second stopwatch with 24-hour capacity and elapsed/split time modes and 1st-2nd place times
- Countdown timer with 60-minute range
- Auto Calendar (pre-programmed until the year 2099)
This watch also features a ±20-second accuracy per month, Afterglow backlighting, and water resistance to water resistance to 200 meters (660 feet)--which will stand up to the rigors of recreational scuba diving. This solar-powered watch has a battery life of up to 5 months on a full charge (without further exposure to light). This multi-band radio-controlled watch receives a time calibration signal transmitted from several locations across the globe (the U.S., UK, Germany, and Japan), and it has an auto receive function (up to 6 times per day). You can choose to automatically receive this signal four times a day, or manually update the watch to the atomic clock.

Ultimate Casio August 15, 2010 Robert N Victa (Pittsburgh) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is the Ultimate Casio Watch.
There are plenty of reviewers who have already said it. They have described in detail the abundant features and available options on this extraodinary technological timepiece.
WOW...solar powered...atomic time synchronization...titanium...Triple Sensors (compass, temperature, more), moon and tide phases...great looks...etc.
This is the watch for you and is highly recommended if you want the "Ultimate Casio".
There are several Casio models that are less money with similiar features but not one with most EVERYTHING in one package as the PAW1500T-7V.
It is must have in your watch collection.
Amazing unbelievable deal:
I bought the watch new for $20.00 at Kohls!. The watch retails for $400.00 and it was on special clearance for 90% off! On top of that I had a 20% of Kohl's coupon and in addition the salesgirl took of an extra $15.00 because she had problems sizing the band and gave credit for me to go to a jeweler. It was a steal at this amazing price. I doubt anyone could ever top this legally :)
Short Review of Tide Function and compass July 13, 2010 RBN 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I like the watch overall, but I bought it because of the tide function.
When I called customer support (1800 435-7732 x5) they were very nice, but they told me that you have to reset the first high tide of every day that you want to check the tide. Basically, I'll need a tide chart to use their tide function.
I have reset the first high tide, and the tide function is usually within 1 to 2 hours behind the actual tide...this is much better than initially, when it was about 6 hrs behind the actual tide.
The compass feature is a bit weak also.
It disappears after a few seconds...it takes longer to settle down than it's displayed.
If you use the compass, you need to be stable.
It is better than nothing, but still, I don't understand why they didn't give it more display time.
I would not recommend buying this watch if all you want is the tide function.
But it is a great watch otherwise.
(the auto night light is cool, if I twist my wrist enough)
Casio Pathfinder review June 9, 2010 Richard A. Sanchez Sr. (Lakeside, CA.) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This particular model of Casio Pathfinder is a very good and reliable model. It has the latest functions available. Where I had trouble was in the watchband itself. After fitting it to my wrist, something I have successfuly done with several other watches, this one fails. The pins are very flimsy, and bend. The pins on the band can fall out while wearing the watch. I own over 2 dozen watches, and have switched watchbands numerous times, and have never had the issues I had with this Pathfinder. Why would Casio make a fine multi-function watch with a cheap band is beyond me.

Great watch - does everything... I just had to have someone show me |-)
It's the best watch I ever owned.

PAW1500T-7V Review May 10, 2010 M. Saade (usa) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
THE GOOD:
1) VERY ACCURATE COMPASS
2) ACCURATE TEMPERATURE BUT SOMETIMES IT NEEDS MORE THAN 10 MINUTES TO GET THE ACCURATE READING.
AFTER YOU REMOVE IT FROM YOUR HAND
3) VERY NICE TITANIUM BAND (5/5)
4) VERY ACCURATE BAROMETER READING (5/5)
THE BAD:
1) INACCURATE ALTIMETER (2/5) SINCE IT RELIES ON THE ATMOSPHERIC PRESSURE. I GET A LOT OF FLUCTUATIONS IN THE
READINGS EVEN IN THE SAME SPOT!!!
2) NOT AS TOUGH AS IT LOOKS, THE WATCH IS ACTUALLY VERY LIGHT.
